It was a story about an emotionally stunted man (Bolaji Ajayi) who was abused throughout his childhood, inflicting the same pain on his children.

His son, Tumininu, bore the brunt of his unresolved anger, while his daughter, Salewa, who didn’t suffer as much, ran away to Ghana just to be as far away from her toxic family as she could.
His wife Ebun was silent all through the abuse, which made her compliant, and it had to take Salewa pointing out her complicit behaviour for her to put her foot down.
Was it too late? No, it wasn’t.
PS: I liked the song they used in the movie.
The love story at the heart of the movie was tender
It was love at first sight between Tiara Adeshina and Tumininu Ajayi, but past trauma didn’t allow them to be great at first.
Tiara liked Tumini despite his nasty attitude towards her, while Tumini fought his feelings as a form of defiance to his father.
Eventually, they found common ground and healed each other. From the enemies to lovers to the slow burn was done with so much care that it made me root for them as a couple.
I rooted for their relationship because they deserved to be happy, and the story proved beyond all reasonable doubt that they did.
I did have one hang-up, though
Who is this man, and why did we never see him again?
