Confession:
I only picked up this show because Morris Chestnut was in it. I had no idea it was reimagining the Sherlock Holmes lore.
I have never watched anything Sherlock Holmes-related: which means that I have ZERO hang-ups and biases.
The show just started and our lead is already suffering from a memory loss.
Hmm.
A time jump to “six months later”.
And he no longer lives in Switzerland. He is now in Pittsburgh, USA.
This woman hasn’t been sleeping and she has lost her goddamn mind in the process. Her vision is distorted.
She got hit by a car and I’m guessing that Watson is going to solve this case?
Is it just me or is Watson way too happy?
Also, I am not a fan of them using Watson to introduce everyone, including himself. It was not natural.
So, something I just spotted. One actor is playing Twins.
Interesting.
The woman who got hit by a car, her name is Erika Filipello and she has something called Fatal Familial Insomnia (FFI). She hasn’t been able to sleep for seven days.
That is insane.
Side note: There is something about this show’s dialogue that feels very unnatural. I hope they fix it in future episodes.
For example: in this scene, they are talking about Erika’s condition and how to solve it. In an attempt to add humour and establish “sibling rivalry”, they drifted into this irrelevant topic.
All of this is unimportant and unfunny.
Okay, I will give them this one.
It was funny. LOL.
This whole exchange reminded me of this guy in the Lord of War:
Watson lied to Erika that she doesn’t have FFI and told her some story about his life and what do you know…
She fell asleep.
But now she has something else.
She can’t see anymore.
How is this even possible? What exactly is wrong with this woman? Does she have some serious mental illness that is manifesting in so many different ways?
What the hell is this dialogue? Who wrote this?
How is this important to the conversation? Who on earth talks like this when they are panicking over the loss of their sight?
So all of this insomnia, blindness and inability to smile is because she has a yeast infection.
Seriously?! A YEAST INFECTION?!
These people cannot be serious.
Is it legal to drive a right-hand drive car in America?
Erika’s cousin, Autumn, now has the same yeast infection.
What the hell are these people eating?
Now they have moved from yeast infection to salmonella poisoning which they got from Erika’s cat.
The name of the illness is Songbird Fever. Autumn has it but Erika does not.
Erika’s father slept with his sister-in-law and they had Autumn.
What a trifling ass no good motherfucker.
So the main illness was what Adam had suggested earlier: Biotin deficiency syndrome.
I guess annoying Adam is smart after all.
All this running around was JUST for a biotin deficiency these two women inherited from their he-goat of a father who was fucking two sisters.
Also for a pregnant woman, shouldn’t she already be on multivitamin supplements that would contain biotin in them?
Autumn and Erika are now both good and well.
Erika is also naming her baby after its aunt, Autumn.
Mary is Watson’s ex-wife and she is dating a woman now.
Watson has been flirting up a storm throughout this episode as a ploy to get back with his ex-wife when in actual fact he can’t. She is lesbian now.
Now I know who wrote this episode.
Some human with an unhealthy dependence on ChatGPT.
Moriarty is still alive and for some reason
Shinwell is doing dealings with him.
Which means that Sherlock is ALSO alive.
Final Thoughts
This show needs a lot of work. First things first, it needs to HIRE HUMAN WRITERS because the dialogue does not make a lick of sense.
Secondly, they need to hire an on-set acting coach for Watson’s entire staff because their acting is not good.
Thirdly, I don’t get what this show is about. It looks like a medical procedural show that might have some spy/detective elements to it. Maybe as the episodes roll along, it will become clearer.
