I guess I was wrong. Their love wasn’t incestuous despite the movie ending with Aaron telling Ifunanya, “this heart only beats just for you”.
Critiques
WHILE THIS HEART BEATS started strong. The first 43 minutes were fantastic, from setting up Aaron’s character, to his heartbreak and then Chuks’ death. All was set up well.
Even the village part of the storyline, where Ifunanya’s uncle was trying to force her into a marriage, was perfect. However, once Aaron and Ifunanya set foot in Lagos, the story begins to nosedive until it crashes into the dumps.
That Bianca and Emeka subplot was as useless and painful as a bad appendix. Their involvement in the main plot was not set up before they showed up and wreaked havoc.
How they were gotten rid of was equally as terrible.
